By the time he joined Bank Danamon in May 2010, Henry Ho had already under his belt an international banking career spanning years of senior management work at Citibank and Citigroup in corporate banking and relationship management, business strategy planning, country business management, and credit and risk management. As the top man at the bank, he's leading major developments in the mobile banking space and Cloud deployment. Ho granted us an interview on the occasion of his being named on of Asia's top bankers in 2014 by IDC Financial Insights.
What are your business and ICT priorities for the next couple years?
Our next business and ICT priorities are divided into five areas as follows.
Attaining new customers and provide conviniency for existing customers by providing new electronic channels such as: mobile apps, mobile branch, and Mobile EDC secure SMS banking.
Deepening customer relationships, increase 'share of wallet' (percentage of customer's expenses) and advance customer risk management by using analytics and enterprise datawarehouse.
Enhancing infrastructure and increase data center efficiency by the use of Server Virtualization and selective cloud computing infrastructure.
Enhancing Regulatory system as required by Bank Indonesia and Financial Services Authority (OJK). This is included in new systems such as XBRL, LSMK, PSAK, and other requirements by the regulators.
Implementing unified communication and collaboration technology.
What investments in technology or initiatives do you have underway or are about to embark on that are meant to meet the objectives tied to these priorities?
As mentioned above, we are investing in mobility platform, new electronic channels, enterprise data warehouse, anayltics, server virtualization and regulatory system.
What are you currently doing or doing more of in the areas of the Cloud, security and mobility?
On the Cloud: We are implementing Server Virtualization in Production and DRC as a part of Cloud technology for Wintel server refreshment.
Security: Currently Danamon has already adapted and implemented security standards based on ISO 27001 and PCIDSS in accordance with Bank Indonesia's regulation (PBI 9/15/PBI/2007) related to risk management. Physical and logical security standards are implemented, covering data centre access, work space access, network security, server, application and user end point security. To further enhance and protect data, Danamon will continue to upgrade the security standards and implementing new initiatives such as Data Leakage Protection and Disk Encryption, security for Cloud and Virtualisation for server optimisation and in the future security for BYOD and mobility initiatives.
