A new partnership between storage and data protection specialist Acronis and managed services firm Iconz-Webvisions will offer cloud backup solutions to businesses in Malaysia and Singapore.

During the partnership announcement, Acronis executive Vice President of APJ & Emerging Markets, Jan-Jaap Jager, said that Acronis Cloud Backup has solved important data protection challenges with a comprehensive "and easy-to-manage service that provides data backup from any source and data recovery to any destination and system."

Jager said cloud backup was now one of the most rapidly growing services in the cloud portfolio as all businesses needed to secure their data.

He said Acronis was working to a solid roadmap, team and strategy for its services, which attracted the commitment of Iconz-Webvisions to the partnership. "We are pleased to partner with Iconz-Webvisions for the markets in Singapore and Malaysia. With their long-established alliances with globally renowned IT vendors and broad-based distribution network, we believe that our partnership will allow more comprehensive coverage and support for Acronis' suite of disaster recovery and data protection solutions to service the needs of the businesses in this region."

"Data is considered by many to be a company's most valuable asset and yet many SMEs [small and medium enterprises] may not have realised the advantages of Cloud backup," added Albert Wong, group chief executive officer of ICONZ-Webvisions.  "We are excited about our partnership with Acronis as we strengthen our solutions offering to our clients, helping them to protect their data through a solution that is simple, secure and affordable."
